Birthday weekend

Even though last Tuesday was my birthday, we kept the party going all weekend long. Grandma and grandpa Georgia came up with her mom and sister on Thursday, so I got to hang out with them a lot. We chilled out around the house and went out to eat with my Michigan grandparents a couple of times. It was almost too much excitement.

Here's everyone watching me eat lunch one day...like I'm an animal at the zoo. They must have seen pictures from my birthday cake and were scared of shrapnel.

Luckily when you take me out to eat you don't have to clean up everything, just me. I'm always the center of attention for some reason.

Aunt Melissa was in town too and she decided to give me a lemon...

Not so much.

My big party was Sunday and it was quite an event. Mom and grandma Michigan did a great job planning everything and doing the leg work. My theme was Sesame Street, Elmo and Cookie Monster in particular.
Just imagine if they could ALL sing like the real Elmo?

Most of my daycare friends were there and I made some new friends too.

Grandpa Michigan made me a soccer ball birthday cake...where's the other half? It's fate would soon become the same as the last one.

Everyone enjoyed the spectacle.

Mom had to help me out with my milk timeouts.

Enough said.

I don't know if it's commonplace to be washed in a bucket with just your diaper on, but mom and grandma Michigan thought it was a good idea at the time. Whatever works.

Presents came next and everything was great. THANK YOU!

The only question was where everything was going to go once we got it home.

The best parents in the world. Who cares if I'm not paying attention?

More pics to come.

Who's the cool guy?

Mom scored me some new sunglasses, Riddick style from Pitch Black. They were so cool I decided to wear them inside. That's right.

Later on dad and I went outside, and I was like, "I need my glasses."
POOF. There they were. Much better.
But then I got tired of them and that was the end of that.
Then Gaspar and I played a little peekaboo.

Happy birthday to me!

So yesterday was my first birthday which I guess is a big deal. Everyone was like, "yea, we made it. I can't believe this day is here. One down, 17 more to go..." Whatever. All I know is it was all about presents and cake. Here are some pictures from the festivities. More story to come.

Let's go tubing

Well I survived my first surgery today, tubes in the ears. It wasn't a bad experience at all, really. Mom woke me up about 6 AM, which kind of sucked, and then I didn't even get breakfast. That really sucked. The hospital we went to was at the same place I was born (reminder: tomorrow). Ahh, the memories. We had to wait a little while in room that looked straight out of ER. There were lots of nurses and doctors to look at, but it seemed to take forever.

Here I am, tagged like wildlife.

This is the mask they would use to gas me to sleep.

Exploring my mobile surgery table. It felt like jail.

Mommy trying to keep my spirits up before they whisked me away.

And then like 20 minutes later, I was awake with mom and dad there. All I know is it was breakfast time. Oh yeah. Hopefully now I won't have to deal with all of there ear infections. Hopefully.

Walk it out

Ola. For the past few weeks I have been working on my cruising and walking skills with the help of anything I can find around the house. Especially my lion on wheels. I can either ride it (via mom and dad bending over and pushing me) or push it as I walk. Obviously it's tough to navigate through the house, so we took the party outside.

I put my shoes on and we were off. The sidewalk was nice and straight, even though it wasn't 100% level. Nothing paved in Michigan is....

There were many distractions along the way for me to point out.

Daddy decided to stay behind for a shot. I knew he was back there up to no good.

Since I'm such a gentleman, I stopped to pick a flower for mommy.

So what if it was a clover, it's better than nothing.

Enjoy my skills in live action

Field trip....literally.

This Sunday afternoon dad and I decided to go watch mommy play soccer. I went to a game last year but mostly slept. Sorry mom. This time was much different, though. When we got there everyone on mom's team wanted to scoop me up and I was very obligatory (that's a big word for me).

I was very excited to see my buddy Easton there with all of his cool toys.

There were many goal scoring chances for me to cheer for.

But mostly I just crawled around and chilled with my pal.

I was very proud of momma. She had two assists and put a couple of great shots on goal.

Rock on

Well our "America's Home Makeover" isn't quite complete, but that hasn't stopped me from using our new porch overhang. Daddy bought rocking chairs for himself and mom....and he bought one for me too! It's perfect size for us vertically challenged. I'll probably spend most of my time riding in one of their laps, but at least I have a place of my own.

Let's go swimming

A couple of weeks ago, our neighbors to the south started building a deck on to their house. It was a family affair so my little buddy Shay was running all over the place. They put their mini pool out and I couldn't help myself. Mom suited me up in some swimmy diapers and my pool outfit and it was in to the water I went. I was of course wearing sunscreen, which for babies is like SPF 200. It's like the deflector shield around the Death Star in Star Wars. We all know how that ended, though...

I think I like it. Now I just need some shades.

So what if I'm going the wrong way?

Artistic shot.

I have to thank our neighbor, Sarah, for letting me use the pool and taking these cool pictures. When can I come over again?
